Hugh Moore Park boasts a new playground with a zip line and other attractions. We’ll walk along the Lehigh Canal upstream to the historic Locktender’s House and view the famous Chain Dam. Island Park, a wildlife sanctuary, is just above the dam. We might get to see the mules that pull the canal boat. Then we’ll walk downstream and cross into the eastern part of Hugh Moore Park to see foundations of the huge industrial complex that covered this property. This walk is appropriate for children of all ages, especially when they see the playground. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring binoculars/camera to capture the wide variety of scenes.
